General Information Regarding MBIP Licensing
BUSINESS PREMISES LICENSE APPLICATION GUIDE AND ADVERTISEMENT
1. The application form is written using a bright and neat blue/black ink pen.
2. Applicants are required to submit one (1) application for one (1) business premises.
3. Applicants must be registered Company Directors/Company Managers only.
4. Applications in the name of the Manager or Branch Manager must be accompanied by a valid appointment letter from the Company Director.
5. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
6. For composite licenses (more than 3 types of business activities in 1 premises) it is required to complete the information in PART III. (Refer to the Business License and Advertisement Application Form)
7. Only complete license applications will be accepted and processed. Any application by post is not allowed.

BUSINESS PREMISES LICENSE TERM AND CONDITIONS
In relation to the application received, the following are the conditions and instructions that must be followed and implemented by the applicant:
1. The entire business building/premises must be in a clean condition.
2. Traders are required to have a suitable and sufficiently loaded trash can.
3. Traders are instructed to use sacks / plastic bags to pack garbage that easily rots before putting it in the trash.
4. Traders are prohibited from conducting any business in the sidewalk, back of the building, shoulder of the road or parking lot. The cleanliness of these places must be maintained and controlled at all times.
5. Traders are prohibited from throwing dirty liquid or “effluent” or other disturbing material, piled up, spilled or drained directly into ditches / drains or public places.
6. Traders must provide a safe and sufficient water supply from a pipe connected to a pipeline from the public water supply.
7. Dealers must provide a safe and adequate supply of water as well as an emergency medicine box.
8. Traders are required to have toilets, urinals and hand washing places that are suitable and sufficient in number and are in good and clean condition.
9. Traders need to take certain measures to ensure that all premises/business spaces have sufficient and satisfactory lighting and ventilation.
10. All hazardous materials (if any) must be kept under control, distorted according to the means and conditions that can prevent output so as not to cause any disturbance and pollution.
11. Traders are prohibited from burning any form of garbage produced.
12. Traders are prohibited from hiring workers from foreigners or non-citizens unless they obtain permission from the Malaysian government.
13. Traders are instructed to place “PRICE TAG” on every business item displayed for sale to the public.
14. All machines, equipment and business items should be arranged neatly, cleanly and in an orderly manner so as not to look crowded.
15. Car Wash Center – The 5-foot-high floor/wall surface of the building must be stone-tiled or painted waterproof.
16. Traders are instructed to always comply with all the requirements that have been set by the Department of Environment, Fire Department, Health Office and other departments involved in relation to the business being conducted.
17. Any installation of billboards or banners on the premises must be approved by the council first.
18. Refer to additional conditions for Food Premises business.
THE COUNCIL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT AND CANCEL THE BUSINESS PREMISES LICENSE APPLICATION, IF ONE OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS FAILS TO BE COMPLIED WITH.
PENALTY
“A person who displays an advertisement without having a valid license from this council has committed an offense under Bylaw 3, Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing Bylaw (Iskandar Puteri City Council) 2018 which can be acted upon under the Law Bylaw 3 (3), Trade Licensing Bylaws, Business And Industry (Iskandar Puteri City Council) 2018 which when convicted can be fined not more than RM 2,000 or imprisoned not more than 1 year or both”. PREMISES ADVERTISEMENT LICENSE CONDITIONS THAT HAVE BEEN SET BY THE COUNCIL AND PROVISIONS UNDER THE ADVERTISEMENT BYLAWS (MDJBT) AMENDED IN 1982
In relation to the application received, the following are the conditions and instructions that must be followed and implemented before displaying the advertisement:
No. The ad must be written and placed at the bottom right corner of the ad as in the following example:

1. Sir/madam must prioritize words in Bahasa Malaysia (Rumi and Jawi) in all advertisements displayed whether it is alone or in any other language.
2. If sir/madam uses words in other languages, then make sure the Bahasa Malaysia words are larger in size and clearly visible. (The word size of other languages should be ¾ smaller than Bahasa Malaysia)
3. Sir/madam are prohibited from displaying billboards that cover or block any windows or air/smoke exits on the outer wall (wall) of the building.
4. Sir/madam it is forbidden to put the sign “HALAL” or “DIBUNG HALAL” on any window of the billboard space displayed unless approved by the Department of Islamic Religion, Johor.
5. Sir/madam are prohibited from placing pictures or words, symbols or brands related to beer, alcohol or words deemed impolite.
6. The type of sales/business/service carried out should be clearly shown at the top center of the billboard and displayed.
THE COUNCIL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT AND CANCEL THE ADVERTISEMENT LICENSE APPLICATION, IF ONE OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS FAILS TO BE COMPLIED WITH.
“PLEASE NOTE that FAILURE sir/madam to comply with any of the above conditions can be fined not more than RM 2,000.00 or imprisonment not more than 1 (one) year or both as under Bylaw 18, Advertisement Bylaws (MDJBT) Amendment 1990 read together with Section 119, Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171).
